Wonderful, sharp-witted 97-year-old Angel retired two years ago from being the barber for his town for 75 years. We had a delightful conversation, and his light from inside just oozed out from every pore. Please take a moment to read about him. Another Gem Embracing Life Now.

In the Grand Canyonā€™s Grace

Date: October 7, 2024

Standing at the edge, where the earth falls away,
The Grand Canyon stretches in endless display.
A river of life, the Colorado below,
Its currents weave stories in a timeless flow.

With awe in my heart and Zoey by my side,
My faithful companion, my joy, and my guide.
Her paws on the earth, our breaths in the air,
We share the vast silence, a bond beyond compare.

The canyon speaks softly, the river hums low,
Together, we listen to the sunā€™s golden glow.
In this sacred expanse, just Zoey and me,
The world feels wild and free.

Preface

Date: April 2024

About three months after turning 65 I went in for a routine mammogram. With dense breasts I would usually have an ultrasound too. That day I was sent for an MRI and soon found myself scheduled for a biopsy. The devastating news was I had the most aggressive breast cancer. The good news was it was small and caught early and should be treatable triple negative breast cancer!!! The pounding in my chest was so loud I really couldnā€™t hear or believe what I was hearing ā€œYou have Breast Cancer.ā€ Obviously a diagnosis of cancer leaves you with a lot of strong emotions. Your whole world is turned upside down and you enter a different reality. It’s the world of doctors appointments, a new language, frightening statistics and theories. Fear of the unknown, future cancer treatments, and how you will feel when you wake up the next morning can be totally unsettling.Ā Ā After sitting for days with this news, I was trying to figure out how to tell my family and friends. I have been single for over 20 years and rarely asked people for help. What a humbling time to know I couldnā€™t do it myself and would need help, lots of help! I have been gifted with beautiful people everywhere Iā€™ve lived and that has carried me through this journey. The cancer journey is one that needs a team of support across all areas and my earth Angels really dropped in for me. I am eternally grateful. With everything in life we have choices and even though my treatments, which were incredibly tough at moments, I chose and continue to choose a positive outlook to Live and EmbraceLife Now!

Ruthie the German Shepard

Date: 2019

Ruthie here with my human partner, Ruby. She is the one doing all the computer work cuz my paws are just too big.

Ruby and I have been together for 6 yrs and we have this very special bond. She asked me if I wanted to share my life story and since we were both born into a life of service, we thought it would be an interesting project.Ā  Once we get the background story told, which will be Rubyā€™s pleasure to step in to do, thenĀ it will be me sharing my essences and favorite things of the moment. Ruby will be listening to my thoughts intuitively. The way I see, smell, hear and live in this world around me while being very alert (well unless my feet are up a wall) is the way I take in each moment of my day. Ruby loves observing and learning from me. Ā  More about that later. Ā

We both Njoy helping others and sharing the love!

For now Iā€™m going to turn this over to Ruby, since she is already starting to express and use more of her own words even before she shares my start in life.Ā  We work daily on being like a crystal by communicating clearly. Ā We both at times need more work on listening.Ā

See ya on January 1st, 2019 on our very own own Instagram page: @Ruthiethegermanshepard Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Ā šŸ¾Ā šŸ’œšŸ¾
